FAQ - Television - KURO
What is the noise that I hear on my plasma screen?
Panel buzzing noise or electrical circuit humming which is refferred to as drive sound.
The screen of a plasma television is composed of extremely fine pixels which emit light according to received video signals. As part of the light emitting process of a plasma display, a huge number of pixels discharge. This principle may make you hear buzz sound or electrical circuit humming from the Plasma Television. This does not indicate a product malfunction.
Pioneer has set clear standards for the 'drive sound' of plasma displays. All plasma displays are inspected at the factory during the production process and only units within specification are released to the market.
HOW TO REDUCE DRIVE SOUND
In order to reduce the 'drive sound', go to HOME MENU - POWER CONTROL, then press Energy Save mode 1 or change drive mode from via HOME MENU - OPTION - from 75Hz to 100Hz.
For the KURO plasma's, please proceed as follows. Go to HOME MENU - POWER CONTROL - ENERGY SAVE then press Energy Save mode1 or mode 2.
