What is the difference between HD Ready and Full HD?

HD ready is a quality label which has been introduced by EICTA (European Information, Communications and Consumer Electronics Technology IndustryAssociations) in January 2005 for the differentiation of display equipment, capable of processing and displaying high-definition signals. It is awarded on the basis of minimum functionality requirements that are detailed in the 'EICTA conditions for HD Labelling of Display Devices'.

'Full High Definition' or 'True High Definition' is often used in marketing materials refering to flat screens with physical resolution of 1920 x 1080. There are however no specific requirements linked to these marketing names and each manufacturer can have its own interpretation.
