The BDP-LX70A gets the best out of high definition media. It delivers ‘master quality’; audio and video exactly as the film-makers intended, perfectly played back at 1080p and 24Hz.

We call this 'HD Digital Film Direct 24'; it ensures that what you see is at exactly the same speed and using the same 24 frames per second as the film was shot, stored, mastered and screened at the cinema.

The player supports bitstream output for both Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. This means that not only are you guaranteed full high definition video quality, but “lossless” audio: sound without any distortion, interference or noise.

Build a true HD home network solution
You can stream compressed audio, movie and image files across your home IP network, too.

The BDP-LX70A is your Home Media Gallery. The player is DNLA-compatible (by Ethernet), which means that content such as MPEG and WMA movie files, MP3, WMA and WAV music files and JPEG, PNG and GIF image files can be transferred from your home computer to the player.

If you don’t have a home network the BDP-LX70A’s Disc Navigator function enables playback, from DVD disc, of the same content formats.

The DV-LX50 operates at the high-end of our DVD player line-up. It has a rigid, double-layered chassis, which allows for a smooth, stable operation of the optical pick-up unit. What this means is that whatever you are playing, you are guaranteed a smooth, stable performance without any noise or interference from external sources.

You can play your entire DVD and CD collection, including DVD-Audio and SACD. The DV-LX50 is multi-format. The system will even play the multi-media formats from your home PC, including DivX Ultra, Windows Media Videos or Windows Media Audio files: simply burn these on a CD and enjoy files from your PC in your living room.

The system plays high-resolution JPEG photo files with the Photo Viewer. Up until now, these files could only be displayed at the lower, standard DVD resolution. But the scaling ability of the DV-LX50 means that your photographs can now be shown in high-resolution detail.

The DV-LX50 has an HDMI output, which means it is capable of upscaling video signals to the high definition resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 lines with no loss of quality. The player also has HDMI Control, which means that you can operate its main functions using the remote of your KURO flat screen TV,
for example: a simple, coherent entertainment solution.

The DVR-LX70D is at the high-end of our DVD Recorder line-up. It has a large 500GB hard disk drive; which is enough to hold more than 1,422 hours of your favourite recordings, whether this is film, music or your digital photographs.

Your personal media recorder
The multi-media functions of the DVR-LX70D goes far beyond simply playing back films, music and images.

Simply hook up a portable audio player and enjoy your music played back directly through the recorder. Naturally, you can also copy your favourite tracks quickly and easily to the hard disc for archiving purposes. And if you have music stored on your PC, you can connect it directly and use Windows Media Player to copy all of your MP3 or Windows Media Audio tracks to the recorder’s hard disk.

The DVR-LX70D offers the Gracenote database, which automatically inserts the relevant track and artist names, too.

Your digital photo's saved on a memory stick or digital camera can also be viewed directly via the recorder, or copied at high speed onto the hard disk. You can print your pictures directly using a PictBridge-compatible printer. Of course, you can also connect a USB keyboard – offering an extremely convenient way of editing titles or navigating the menus if required.

TheDVR- LX70D offers HDMI output with Deep Colour. This means that all colour transitions and gradients are reproduced with the highest level of precision. Colours are displayed in 36-bit depth, so what you see is as natural and lifelike as possible.

The DVR-LX70D has an integrated DVB-T tuner, which gives you access to a wide range of local digital terrestrial television and radio stations. If you use pay TV, you can plug your smart card directly into the CI slot; the benefit is that you no longer require an additional decoder box.
